His best-selling book, Tighten The Lug Nuts, was recently ranked #1 in Business Leadership and Business Management. The book would be an ideal Holiday gift for those who hope to experience hyper-growth and come out of the gate in the lead in 2022.
With 2021 nearly behind us, leaders who take the time to prepare now can set the stage for stellar growth in 2022. We are at a unique time in history and our plans for the coming year should reflect that. While nearly all of us start to develop our plans at this time of year, the 2021 planning stage offers unique, seldom seen opportunities to recover from the slowdowns, refocus, rebuild and expand through creative strategic planning.
An inspirational keynote speaker and trainer, Romanella is founder and principal of 3SIXTY Management Services, LLC. He has over 40 years of leadership at Fortune 100’s and is a leading expert in the development of leadership skills. Romanella believes we all hold a leadership role. In regard to preparing for the coming year, he recently posted a number of key ideas in his company newsletter that can help us set the tone for the coming year, regardless of the roles we play – business owner, manager, educator or member of a family group.
“As leaders each of us touches and influences the lives of the individuals in our care. It can be a person under our supervision or care, a spouse we honor and live with, or a child we nurture, a student we teach, or a player we coach. It could be as simple as a fellow member of our church or religious affiliation, club, league, or association, but it is usually identified by the fact we have made a positive difference through our actions and examples.
“Leaders must develop emotional intelligence along with their educational intelligence and business acumen. Sometimes a simple story I find can help people see the bigger picture, promote moral and ethical behavior, and maybe, just maybe, not take ourselves so seriously that we lose sight of the fact that it is not always about us.
“As we stop to think about tomorrow, giving feedback to your employees is one of the most important responsibilities you have. The challenge may be more difficult this year in a virtual world but must be done in a thoughtful way that motivates, inspires, and helps them continue their journey.
“I believe all of this starts with Values. It is what you do when no one is watching that counts. Integrity can often be used to describe this activity, but I would like to take it further, it is integrity of your word as well as your actions. I think the integrity of our actions is something we can grasp and to which we can relate. But what do I mean by integrity of your word? Simply put, you make a commitment to follow up on something, respond to a request, commit to an action, and you do it!
“I believe that two fundamental ingredients of a successful person are hard work and enthusiasm. There is no substitute for Hard Work and an equation that I believe successful people use is…. Time + Effort + Enthusiasm = Results.
“Enthusiasm is what fuels your drive and keeps the engine revving. Without enthusiasm your equation is time and hard work, and although these are two important ingredients to success, always remember hard work without enthusiasm is just that… HARD WORK. Hard work by itself gets old!
Another way to look at it is: Make it Fun, Make it Happen but Make it Happen.
